This past Thursday, my team and I attended the Martinis for Melanoma event at the 1149 Restaurant in East Greenwich, Rhode Island to benefit the Melanoma Foundation of New England.  As a proud sponsor for this event along with Dr. Antonio Cruz and SkinPros who were previous sponsors introduced us to get involved; we support the mission of this incredible organization.

Melanoma is serious and it is the deadliest form of skin cancer and is the most common form of cancer.  The good news is: With early detection and expert care it is curable.  And, in many people, it is preventable.

In its 7th year, Martinis for Melanoma is a fun and social gathering to bring awareness about this deadly disease.

We have been so happy to team up with Sen. Jack Reed who is a major player nationally on sun protection and FDA rules. We have numerous joint press conferences about the subject to help educate consumers.

We also have had the great pleasure of working with the Dept of Dermatology at Brown University in a joint effort – to educate and to treat.

It is imperative that we continue to increase awareness about the following:

  1. Importance of protecting yourself from the harmful effects of the sun
  2. How to appropriately use sun protection
  3. The early signs of melanoma and the effectiveness of expert screening programs

Enjoy the photos from this fun and informative event…
