In my last blog post, I discussed the benefits of getting a chemical peel. Now, I would like the discuss the maintenance after receiving a chemical peel. Maintenance varies from patient to patient and depends on your specific condition. However, the average is one or two peels within a two to three week period and then begin a night regime of either Retin A (Retinols: forms of this medication are used to improve the appearance of the skin and minimize fine wrinkles) or the use of Teoxane Refiner.

For patients looking to achieve both hydration as well as a mild resurfacing of the skin – Teoxaneâ€s Skin Refiner is a perfect match.  The product contains the patented Teoxane cross linked hyaluronic acid as well as resurfacing ingredients such as glycolic acid.  It also contains rose water and additional antioxidants that help calm and soothe the skin.  We recommend that you apply 1 to 2 pumps of this product to the face and neck after cleansing and to avoid the contours of your eyes and lips. Patients often report seeing a brighter more radiant complexion in as little as 15 days. This product has also been used to help even out slight variations in skin pigmentations.

Skin maintenance should be a daily habit.  Skin is a protective barrier that needs attention everyday.  The use of new and improved sunscreens and moisturizers every morning are a must to protect your investment.  We are very happy with the new Skin3 products by Alphaeon.  Each product is targeted to an area on your face that needs improvement.  Skin3 eye, lip, and skin can be use alone or in combination with each other.

It would be best to consult with Maureen, our Clinical Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS) to determine which is best for you. Please feel free to contact us anytime at:  401.400.4222.
