This is a 36-year old young lady who was very concerned about the appearance under her chin and the upper part of her neck. She was concerned about the appearance of her double chin. She said this was a problem that she has had for years and that it runs in her family.
The procedure involved a multi-layer sculpting via an incision underneath the chin. Dr. Sullivan did not feel liposuction alone would have been appropriate because the excessive fatty tissue was found to be beneath the platysma muscle where he does not feel that liposuction can safely be done.
There are three-month and five year follow-up photographs of her face and neck. Only one small incision was used beneath the chin and no skin needed to be removed because of her excellent skin elasticity.
